Foodies will find a plethora of gastronomical wonders in Maui. From the exclusive chef’s tables at the Mill House and Andaz to the food trucks in Haiku…your palette will be pleasantly pleased.
When arriving on Maui, you may want to stock up your villa or hotel with locally produced goodies such as kimchi, coconut candy or maybe a jackfruit, lilikoi or mango. Be sure to checkout the local farmers markets which can be found around the island on various days.
In addition to the standard offerings at Wholefoods, Costco or Safeway, foodies are encouraged to seek out the local specialty shops such as Mana Food’s, Maui Prime, Yee’s Orchard & Fruit Stand, Surfing Goat Dairy, A&E Oriental Foodmart, Mercados, Au Fooks, Valley Isle Kombucha, the Fish Market or Tamura’s.
Commercial space on Maui is hard to find and very expensive as a result the island has been blesses with some amazing food trucks. You will have to venture off the beaten path to find most of these food trucks but what could be better than spending a time exploring a part of the island most visitors will not see.
Food trucks…worth seeking out
